Lived in Mt Dora for a few years and finally decided to check this place out. The entrees were fresh and authentic.

Went here today for lunch. The place was empty besides a few people at the bar, so the service was quick. The food was edible, it wasn't bad but I have had much better. I got enchiladas deluxe which had fresh toppings, but the rice seemed sort of old. I probably won't go here again as they didn't blow my mind.

An active, clean, restaurant with large portions and excellent service. Happy hour until 7 pm, the Aztec Salad and Fiesta Nachos were great! Nothing amiss here, a must go if you are visiting wonderful Mt Dora!

We went to this restaurant for a birthday lunch on a Sunday and I'd have to say we had great timing because it filled up fast with the church crowd. I was not impressed with the house margarita ($5). It tasted like lemonade. For $6-8 you can get premium tequila which would probably taste better. I usually know its not good if it's in a beer mug lol On to the good stuff- the food! The guys ordered spicy salsa & guacamole. Both were very yummy & home made! I ordered Combo D, which after having chips I couldn't finish it! It was chicken enchilada, beef taco & burrito. The taste was amazing & for a person who loves cheese.. This hit the spot! Not too greasy either.

Second time trying this restaurant. Each time, the food was very tasty. Their warm chips and salsa starts you off craving for a great Mexican dish. I had a combination. Full of flavor! Truly authentic and plentiful. My combo came with one hefty burrito, one tasty crunchy beef taco, one over-loaded with cheese enchilada and one plumped chalupa! Needless to say - I was full! In fact, now I'm full thinking about how full I was! Mount Dora is a great place to relax and can be a romantic place to unwind, with a great plus having this restaurant in walking distance makes it an even better place to stay. Especially if you like frozen adult beverages!!

I know Mexican food well... The food was mediocre, Sangria was very good (actually the best thing in the menu)...but the service was POOR. My server, was more worried about the tables that he could cash out than servicing the customers he had... I can go to Taco Bell and get the same for less... Just stick with the chips and salsa and sangria in the happy hour...

Love this place. Second visit. Great happy hour 2-7. 2 in 1 drafts, wine, margaritas. Ordered 2 Dos Equis on tap. Huge frosted mugs. Complimentary chips and the best salsa. Ordered a nice bowl of great guacamole for $4. Excellent service. Really a nice place. Good for families. Good lunch priced combos until 3pm Monday thru Saturday. Our favorite place in Mt. Dora.

It's clean and wasn't blaring mariachi music. There. I've said the good. The waiter was desultory at best and looked like he wanted enjoy a smoke at shift change. We were there in the afternoon. We got one basket of chips with our salsa and he never brought more. I've been to Mexican restaurants coast to coast and the chips keep coming bub. Drink refills were slow in coming as well. The food. Well, were to start? My chili releno was filled with an unidentifiable ground beef mixture. Maybe meat and a bland queso? Couldn't really tell and it wasn't very tasty. First child's taco was soggy and instantly split and spilled it contents over the rest of the plate. Not sure how a hard taco gets soggy enough to disintegrate between the kitchen and table but it did. My chalupa was a tostada and not a good one at that. Youngest's "Mexican hot dog" was fine. If you screw up a hot dog you should be fired and publicly shamed. Other child's quesadilla came out as a taco salad that actually looked good but it's not even close to what she ordered. We should of kept it. The quesadilla had a really weird taste. Really, really weird. Not spoiled or burnt but a taste like someone with no taste buds was experimenting with the seasoning shelf. It wasn't tex mex at all. Like Montreal steak seasoning mixed with cumin and a bit of steak sauce. And it was also a sloppy mess. Everyone agreed there was something off about the refried beans as well. It really takes effort to jack up refritos! Like I said it's clean and the atmosphere is quieter than usual. Didn't try the drinks. I avoid tequila like the plague and latin beer sucks unless you're on the beach or fishing. The food is really one star at best. We went 4 years ago and were less than impressed. Time has only made it worse.

Only stopped in for the happy hour drinks before the sunset cruise. Had couple beers is all. Server was attentive and pricing reasonable. Did a good job with the 12 of us.

Just finished the best lunch! 5 of us stopped in for lunch & left happy & filled to the max. The food is not only authentic, it's simply the best Mexican food I've ever had. Kids loved their lunches & I loved the variety of choices for lunch.

Great food, amazing staff, friendly atmosphere and super yummy nachos... awesome place to get something to eat while you're out shopping in the streets happy hour everyday 2 to 7 yay!

This Mexican restaurant was ok. We sat down right when it opened and the service was attentive. We got our drinks np, and chips and salsa came quickly. Nothing fabulous, just tasty chips and basic salsa (not spicy). I ordered a salad and a tamale. They were both good, average. I had order guacamole but they forgot. The servers were attentive but did not really seem committed. We sat outdoors and it was comfortable and I enjoyed the patio. Not likely to go back with so many other choices that are great! Oh the kids dishes were substantial. Choice of fries or refried beans(prob from a can)/rice.

I am genuinely shocked to see 4 and 5 star reviews here. This was probably some of the least authentic, salt-drenched Mexican food I have ever had in my life (I'm being ridiculously kind) - I would have rather had Taco Bell, and that would be an overall better value. Not a piece of cilantro in the entire place! The salsa tastes like it has ketchup in it? The enchiladas and burritos are just super salty ground beef inside soggy tortillas smothered in salty oily cheese - the only difference being the enchilada is smaller and has some red enchilada sauce from the can. The lighting is like a highschool classroom, and the tables by windows of the patio put you at eye level with the buttholes of the patio guests. 2 stars because the service was OK (although the person who sat us literally threw the menus onto the table from 3 feet away as she walked past the table she was taking us to - she literally didn't break stride), and the beer was cold. This was the first time I had been really let down at a restaurant in awhile...$40, ouch.

Lake County has a lot of Mexican restaurants. Like, a lot a lot. Still, I was worried when moving from Winter Garden where I proudly helped keep Taquitos Jalisco open for years, if I could find something comparable, or at least satisfactory. Voila! Fiesta Grande is pretty good. The fajitas are huge, albeit a little on the oily side, and the combo platters come really close to my beloved Taquitos. Their happy hour specials are amazing. Think giant margaritas and 2 for 1 beers. Even during regular ours, this place has great prices on alcohol. The food always comes out magically fast, even when it's crowded.

This little Mexican place is a bit off the main path, on a side street of Mount Dora. First impressions were okay...nicely laid out and decorated...But, there were only two other parties in the place and they were going to seat five of us at a little table for four. Typical Mex place you get chips and salsa...not the best I've had, but not the worst....just kind of okay. Menu seemed a bit pricy for what you get, but Mount Dora is a tourist area...Food was okay...just very typical non-Mexican Mexican, if you know what I mean. Service was okay...our server was very prompt and professional, albeit it seemed she was not happy with her job. So, I remain neutral and recommend you see for yourself...

Have been here many times as a couple and with groups and they have never disappointed us. They try to do their best and usually use a frequent tag team to serve you and check with you after being seated. They respond well to a simple wave. We have tried a good deal of the menu and the fajitas are the best I've had. There is some room for improvement with the menu. The food could use a little more flavor. The clean washroom facilities aren't the most desirable. Overall they deserve a better rating than most other Mexican style restaurants in this price range.

This has been consistently my favorite restaurant in mount Dora. But I the last time I had the chile releno it was full of seeds! It wasn't that great. But the chimichanga is always great! And the margaritas are always my favorite and a good price! Even though the releno's aren't great anymore I still love their food and the service is always fast!

Hey L.S. you aren't the first reviewer. This restaurant already existed in Yelp, you didn't need to create a new one. Let me say that after using yelp for over a year I just signed up to respond to this review by L.S. For what is this place is, its great! Small business that is family run, parents run the kitchen "kids" (who are in their 20's) are the servers. Actual mexican cusine. I don't know how the last reviewer makes the claim of the beans straight of the can. I have eaten here ten or so times and everytime it has been great mexican food for reasonable prices. I will admit that the food could use some more spice but all you have to say is "make it spicy" and they do just that. Rmember this is mount dora where most of the diners are old and seem to prefer bland food so I think they are playing it safe. This is a great place that locals go to as well as tourists. Skip Chilis and all of those other barf chains. Give it a try!

Best Mexican food in Mount Dora with the best Happy Hours! The servers and service are great, our favorite server is Daniel! My favorite's are: Steak Quesadilla, Bistec ala Tampiquena, fish tacos, bacon wrapped shrimp and the Margarita's. My husband and son love their Mocajete Caliente.

I come here a lot, the lunch prices are a steal! and dinner prices are reasonable for that area. For some cheap really good fajita and margarita come 4-7 and you wont be disappointed. Food is def authentic as well. TIP - don't order the ribs!! jesus you're at a mexican restaurant I dont know what I was thinking that one time.

Time passes and things change. The last time I was here I couldn't believe how delicious the food was. This time? I was incredibly underwhelmed. First of all the service we got today was rushed and our server seemed she was just overwhelmed. As for the food, last I was here, I ate meat and now I don't. I realize that my choices will be incredibly limited and I do not expect a notoriously meat based food to cater to me. I was however, thrilled to find a part on the menu that catered to vegetarians. I wanted Enchiladas (I had them last time, I figured I could get them vegetarian). I asked our server what the vegetarian Enchiladas had in them, she said "Cheese".. uh hmm.. just cheese? Oh yea, no. That sounds lazy and well, kind of gross. What do the Chile rellenos have in them? Same. Oyy. No. So I asked what veggies the vegetarian Fajitas have.. "Onions, peppers, mushrooms, broccoli.." Ok, I order those. My hubby got a platter that had the enchilada, a chile relleno, and a chalupa. So flavor wise let me break this down lest anyone wants to judge because of our not eating meat: Guacamole was delicious. It was the only thing. Refried beans, bland - basically tasteless. Rice, was not good at all, some of it looked crunchy, not bottom of the pan crunchy, but sitting under a heat lamp crunchy. These are things on everyone's plate carnivores/vegetarians alike. Now for the veggie dishes. I should have known better. Broccoli, mushrooms and squash do not belong on this fajita dish. Not mexican, not authentic and change the flavor. My fajitas tasted like Chinese stir fry. I did not finish them. How about Peppers, onions and jicama? I tried my husband's food and oh no... you just can't stuff everything with cheese. It is just NOT. GOOD. How about offering black beans slightly mashed with some great seasonings instead of meat? Fill those chiles with a rice/black bean mixture. Something. Black beans not authentic? Well hey, neither are broccoli and summer squash so if you can change that up you can give us other options or not. If you are going to offer a vegetarian portion on the menu, just talk to people who are. Get ideas on how to change the recipes. All in all though, it seems this place is resting on their laurels. My daughters Chalupas in theory should have been delish. She also thought they were pretty bland. Sadly, now that I actually live close enough to come on a whim, I won't . I do hope they go back to their former flavors ... (pssst.. add Chilaquiles to the menu with salsa verde).

Started with the churiqueso dip. It was yummy. But more churriso than actual quest dip. I went with the enchiladas supreme and requested them to be chicken and beef only. The beef enchiladas were waaaay better than the chicken ones!

Fish tacos were fantastic and big chunks of fish. 2 for 1 margaritas were delicious. My wife and I sat in the deck during the afternoon. Funny to see all these people bundled up and shivering while I'm in shorts and T-shirt. Guess my thick Wisconsin blood keeps me warmer. Wait staff was awesome, kind and courteous and always spot on with service. My wife had the enchiladas and my parents had chimichangas. All were great and very flavorful. Excellent little place to eat. The reason I only gave 4 out of 5 is because I didn't get a chance to review the kitchen or food prep area.

Great little Mexican place. I was in town for business and before leaving had the urge for Mexican Food. Wasn't real hungry but the reviews did mention good guacamole and I do like good guacamole. My server Ulysses was nice and brought hot chips and salsa immediately after taking my order. Within a few minutes thereafter he returned with the guacamole. As I said I'm always looking for good guacamole and this was pretty good. It was fresh, chunky, and had some kick to it (all the minimum necessary items for good guacamole - ha). For a drink, I almost ordered a Dos Equis, but was tempted, and went with the sangria. However the sangria was good and no regrets. Overall a nice visit and am looking forward to ordering a meal (along with the guacamole) next time in town.

Ok, first time here, portions large, food, excellent , service, fantastic, they had vegetarian menu items and even fried ice cream, had not seen that in a long time, overall score 5 stars, last regarding the fried ice cream, it was very good, I had regular chicken fajitas flavor very good. My wife had the veg plate with cheese enchiladas and beans a Spanish rice & Chili rellenos, she said they were great.

The service was good but no one was very friendly. The food was absolutely horrible I mean just a complete waste of money. The only good thing was the queso and chips which is overpriced. Will never go back again. Nothing tastes fresh and it seemed like all you could get was beef, nothing could be substituted for chicken. La cabana in eustis is the place to go for authentic FRESH and friendly dining.

Authentic Mexican food for a great price! Just don't fill up on the homemade chips and salsa, because you are going to want room for your entree. Great place to take groups, as there is something for everyone, including friends on vegetarian diets. My kids love this restaurant for the tortillia rolled hot dog and pineapple juice. If it is a nice night, sit on the patio outdoors.

LOVE THIS PLACE!! Great prices and even better food. Never once had bad service, sometimes there is a wait. It's my fav place for mexican in lake county

First time here and order the most expensive thing on the menu. The chips were good. The salsa was very bland and needed a lot of doctoring. The main meal was disgusting. The ground "Beef" was most likely horse. My wife also agreed is did not taste like beef. The cheese was fake and greasy. The red sauce was probably from a can and very bland. I had to use both hot sauces to make this meal edible. When I complained about the food I was ignored, like they could not understand me. I tried to complain again and they just brought us the check and walked away. I just want to throw up.

One of my faaaaaaavorites in the whole area. This food is legit. The lunch specials are out of control... I can go with my boyfriend and order fajitas and a combo and leave with a $12 bill and an overfull stomach. The service is super fast and always awesome...you never have an empty bowl of chips or water glass. Go for the happy hour margaritas and thank me later. Anyone complaining about this place must love Taco Bell too much to divert their taste buds to real food.

Good chips and salsa. Never had anything on the menu that wasn't good. Most recent visit tried the special tacos that were advertised. Soft Corn Tacos stuffed with Steak Carnitas, covered with a tasty green tomatillio sauce. Very good The only thing keeping me from giving more stars is the draft beer isn't cold enough and seems kind of flat

Located in Mt. Dora, a few steps off of the main historic downtown square. Friend enjoyed a grilled chicken salad, which was presented like a cobb salad. She really enjoyed the quality and spices used for the chicken and ordered some quac on the side which she was very happy with. I enjoyed noshing on some chips and salsa- the salsa had great flavor, some nice zing and the chips were house made and tasty. Would definitely come back in to enjoy some other menu items. Service was very friendly and food was delivered quickly. Happy hour is 2-7 pm daily, will be coming back for a margarita!

We love this place and they have good chips and salsa. Word has gotten out and the place is busy most of the time. Except a little wait. They have a good Happy hour and the super size your Sangria in a big mug. Whenever we are in Mt. Dora the family always goes here for either lunch or dinner. We usually order one of the Fajita.

This place has the very best chile rellenos EVER. Trust me, I have tried them everywhere and these are the best! The servers are always friendly, albeit a little slow sometimes and the fajitas are good too! Not crazy about their ground beef... it's a little bland but I forgive them because of the rellenos.

Best mexican food in the area, and the Dos Equis on tap is always cold! Try the Molcajete Caliente, it's my favorite!!!

Pretty good. I got tamales, a chalupa and an enchilada. It was all pretty authentic and fresh and the location was cute. The enchilada sauce was a little sweet which is the first time I have had that. I have had better, but thus far Florida has a subpar Mexican choice compared to other areas and this is among the better places I have eaten locally for Mexican.

VIVA!! Authentic superb Mexican! I wanna do the fiesta dance. So let's begin by saying we were hot, exhausted but yet very happy after locals told us how to find this place. The streets were filled with so many vendors from the fair that it was hard to find things. I drove four hours to come to this place. LOL Carla and Gus, can I say "love you two".....you rock...this place was awesome!! There was a huge wait outside because so many people were in town and all the places were packed. I was so worried the food would be lacking good quality and the service would be bad because they were so busy..... We squeezed our way inside to the bar area, hubby went to the restroom after putting our name in with the hostess. A very nice gentleman, whom looked like Santa came up to me and said "Huney, we are leaving would you like our seats at the bar" YAY!! I smiled and thanked him for his kindness. Jason was our bartender, who made a killer margarita $3.75, we will not talk about how many we had. Heck at this price no wonder we stayed for so long.....The chips and salsa arrived. Light, flaky, fresh chips, oh so good and the fresh salsa with just the perfect amount of spices. Instead of my usual fajitas, Jason recommended the Chimichanga and Spicy Burrito for hubby. See pictures, they were gigantic. Everything was so delish! Way to much food and aghh, $7.50 each with rice and beans, sour cream and guacamole. Woohoo.....The chicken in my Chimichanga was so tasty, shredded huge chunks of fresh white chicken meat, it was comical about how much chicken was in it. I think they put an entire chicken in it. All I can say was the food was terrific! We were having such a good time with our great food and drinks that we stayed for sometime. The bar area was packed with many locals and tourist all having a fun. The best part was a lady sitting beside us had a few to many white Zinfandel's. She was flirting with Jason the bartender, a true cougar in action. It was so funny to watch because he was being so nice to her, and all the Spanish waiters were picking on him speaking in Spanish so she could not understand but we did and it was hysterical. She would not give up and invited him to her B & B after work. whew, she eventually stumbled out of the restaurant and everyone in the bar area started clapping and giving Jason such a hard time. Ha, he was very cute and Soave, being professional and getting a very good tip at the end!! We had so much fun, excellent authentic food, superb service, and awesome prices! A must stop if you are in the area. My dear friendly yelpers, Carla and Gus, you hit it head on, this place ROCKS!!!

I like it for the friendly staff, and the food is always consistent. Prices are reasonable and atmosphere is laid-back-sit out on the porch on a nice day or evening and sip margaritas! Update: the last time we were there and ordered our favorite-Brochetta (?) a dish with meat, pineapple, bacon and cheese and tortillas to make your own-it was greasy and the bacon was all fat. Still, the atmosphere and service are a plus!

We got take out here and it wasn't good. Burritos, tacos, chips and salsa, all of it wasn't above Taco Bell, but the price sure was. Why should we go back? We will try someplace else next time.

Tucked along a side street in picturesque downtown Mt. Dora is an authentic taste of Mexico - otherwise known as the Fiesta Grande Mexican Grill. Residing in what was once an Irish pub, the Fiesta Grande boasts both indoor and outdoor seating as well as a decent sized bar. My husband and I have dined here on many occasions, most recently being July 4th. This time around I had the #18, a tasty combination of a chile relleno, chalupa and rice. All were delicious, particularly the chile relleno which was covered in a sauce that has a slightly sweet note to it. My husband had the #1 which was a combination of a taco, chalupa, burrito and enchilada. Again, all the items were very good and he particularly liked the cheese that was used. (Usually, he doesn't care for the cheese that tops Mexican dishes.) HELPFUL HINT: If you order a combo that includes a taco, eat the taco first while it is still crispy. Otherwise, it turns into a soggy mess. I learned this the hard way! The service here has always been professional and attentive. Our drinks and salsa/chips bowls were refilled without our even asking. All in all, if you ever find yourself in Mt. Dora and craving something a bit exotic, consider stopping by the Fiesta Grande.

I have been here twice. The first time we had good service and good food. Had chips salsa and guac right off the bat. not charged for it. my second visit here was well... pathetic. THe waiter needed a better understanding of English... Charged us for the guacamole which we weren't for our first visit. I don't know if this was a mistake or not.. Then when i paid in cash never gave me my change .. assuming it was his tip Which i had to retrieve.... POOR SERVICE. and the fajitas were well... im sure taco bell has better. This restaurant needs to train their servers better. There are better Mexican restaurants that is worth the drive. NOT WORTH THE MONEY

We went here last night. We were a larger party of 9 but I don't believe that had any bearing on the service we received. The food wasn't bad once we actually got it but it was the worst service I've ever received at a restaurant. We asked three different people to please bring us more chips which didn't show up until 20 minutes after asking. Our server was nowhere to be found so we could order another round of drinks. I asked to speak with a manager and was told he would be right over and no one ever showed up. My boyfriend and I ordered the steak and chicken fajitas for two. Our food wasn't brought out until ten minutes after the rest of our party and when it was there were shrimp in our fajitas. Neither of us can eat seafood so even though we were starving at this point we asked our waiter to please bring us a new entree without shrimp. About 15 minutes later I got up and asked for a manager again and was told that our server is actually the one left in charge. Just as everyone at our table was finishing their meals our waiter returned with our new fajitas which still had a shrimp in them - serious stuff for people who are allergic. Once I told him this, he was very apologetic and told us he was having problems with the kitchen. Needless to say at this point I was so aggravated I wasn't very hungry. I will never go back.

Have been here a few times, never overwhelmed by the food but OK. Today marked rock bottom. To begin with, the salsa that accompanied the chips tasted like whoever prepared it had dumped a lot of cumin into the mix. When we asked the waitress what the secret ingredient was she said that every morning someone else makes it and may have their own recipe...consistency here is apparently not of great value. Combined with chips that were the thickness of roofing tile and we were off to a weak, but survivable start. Then I ordered the large burrito with shredded beef (burrito roll or something like that) which came bare, with some sort of white cheese substance and sour cream on the side. It was filled with vegetables and beans and somehow virtually devoid of flavor: a first for me as even bad Mexican fare normally tastes like...well, something. When I requested some red sauce (like my wife had on her enchiladas) to kick things up, I got what tasted like gravy - no spice, no flavor. My maiden Aunt Eula would have loved this on her meatloaf. OK, perhaps a bad day, or maybe the cook slept late and the dishwasher pitched in...but as my wife observed, "let's not bring visitors back here".

This is a solid spot for some Mexican food. They offer chips, salsa, and cheese dip right off the bat, and deliver great service after that. They have an outdoor patio which is dog friendly, and a Grande amount of seating inside. The ambiance is near perfect. Now, I'm not saying that the food has to be so spicy that you leave the place burping fire and farting lava, but come on it's Mexican. Kick me in the ass a little bit already. I especially think the "Hot and Spicy Burrito" should be, you know, hot and spicy. Just a thought. Altogether, it's certainly not the best Mexican food you can eat, but it's still a worthwhile place to stop.

Ok so, this place has been here 6 years.... Shame on us for not having visited sooner!! Granted, it's off the main Mount Dora drag, but PLEEZ, put it on your map. It's only one block north and definitely worth the trip. My margarita was made fresh, with my choice of tequila (Corralejo) and a whole squeezed-in-front-of-me lime. Hubby's XX Amber was on tap and, for a mere $3 at all times, a real freaking bargain. And clean lines...bonus!! I had the Molcajete mixto, a delicious mixed grill made in a 'molcajete' (heated basalt mortar) and served with fresh flour tortillas. Hubby had the steak chimichanga. Both were über fresh and utterly delicious. The tortilla chips are house made as is the salsa, which had a delightful kick. Actually, we were told (very proudly) everything is made fresh every day! We sat at the bar (as we do in most places) and service was quick, friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back, check this place out again and make sure it's not a fluke. But, based on other Yelper's reviews, I think we're good to go.

Mount Dora is notorious for mediocre restaurants. Fiesta Grande is a fine addition but it is not a stand out. The restaurant is laid back and a bit dark and dingy inside, right on par with most other Mexican restaurants I've been to. Chips are brought to your table along with a tiny thing of salsa which had nice sized chunks of tomato. My hubby asked for a hotter sauce and said it was really good. I ordered the shrimp fajitas which were pretty standard. They came with the SMALLEST tortillas I have ever seen. They were about the diameter of a child's hand and were so small I could only fit about 2 shrimp inside. Service was ok but felt a bit forced. We had some margaritas but they were small and so-so. I'm not blown away by Fiesta Grande; if you're in Mount Dora and in the mood for Mexican they fit the bill, otherwise I would definitely keep looking for a better dining option.

The menu is typical Mexican. I had the Fajitas Brocheta, which was both unique and tasty. The combo version has strips of both steak and chicken, bacon, green pepper, onion, pineapple and mushroom, covered in a light layer of (real) melted cheese, sizzling on a hot iron plate, with warm tortillas. My wife's chicken enchiladas were nothing special, and she called out the refried beans as tasteless. Service (on a Saturday night) was very slow.

When our longstanding favorite Mexican restaurant (Eduardos) closed shortly after we moved to Mount Dora in 2004, we thought we'd have to drive miles to locate another place to get our MexFix. In comes Fiesta Grande, bringing some very fresh meals at fair prices. Their salsa and guacamole are made on the premises...and you can taste that for sure. I always get the Chicken Chimichanga....and this, my friends, is one HUGE, delectably fried, hunka-hunka, Chimichanga filled to the brim with fairly big pieces of chicken and veggies. The sides of refried beans and rice are okay, nothing overly spectacular. Trust me, you won't have any room for the sides after you devour the Chimi...you'll even have some left to bring to your hacienda. The service is always prompt, even when they are busy. Nothing fancy, but attentive. It does get VERY loud in this small restaurant, especially lunch time on weekends. The outdoor patio is quaint, but does allow canines, which I prefer to NOT eat with. If that's your thing, then you'll enjoy the outdoor seating. Otherwise, we have no doubt we've found our new favorite Mexican restaurant in Mount Dora. The icing on the cake is that we can walk to Fiesta Grande. Happy Dining!

In my 12 years of living in South Florida, I have never given up on my quest for good authentic Mexican food - We find ourselves driving for miles to faraway parts of town in our quest for the elusive restaurant. To my surprise, we have found an outstanding place smack dab downtown Mt Dora - totally unexpected, we actually sort of stumbled upon it our first night there while at the Bike Festival. This place IS the real thing, their service is excellent as it should be in any good Mexican place. Service with a smile, consistently good food and very very very reasonable prices. I am a true fan of this place, and recommend it without reservations to anyone in search of good Mexican food with pleasant service.

If you want to order a taco with a side of cigarette smoke sit outside. Completely ruined our families dinner. Lovely Florida evening sabotaged by old folks and Marlboro's. Sorry but we will never return.....

We stopped in for lunch for our first visit here. The only very good part or our meals was the salsa. Other than that there was nothing really out of the ordinary. The beef and chicken enchiladas were they type that are manufactured for the masses and the guacamole salad was just okay. The service was quick and friendly and the place clean as it should be. No reason to go back.

We have eaten here about ten times and they are consistently good. I had to write today because I tried there chili relleno and it was really good, I just order the one and it was huge. The cheese and beef and chili cooked perfectly. My husband ordered a combination platter and he devoured it before I could get a bite. The service was good, our waiter did not speak much English but he was prompt to fill our drinks. They have an outside patio where u can bring your dog too!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
